Learn Not The Way of The Heathen~The Pagan Christmas Tree

Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
Jer 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

The Christmas tree is a pagan custom that the Catholic church allowed and tried to "Christianize" it.GOD tells us not to do as the heathen, but yet thousands of Christians still have Christmas trees in their house, even though the Bible tells us not too. You cannot try to Christianize the heathen Christmas tree. It is still pagan no matter what you want to call it.GOD's people are to be seperate from these and worship Him in spirit and truth.
Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Christmas is not in the Bible, and Jesus /Yahshua was not born on December 25th. Noone in the Bible observed Christmas. The pagans worshipped the Winter Solstice called Saturnalia and thier other idols on this day, and all the Christmas things people do are all from the pagans and not from GOD.You can read online the pagan origins of Christmas and any Encyclopedia and see all the Christmas traditions are indeed rooted in paganism, and it doesn't matter how much people try to Christianize it, it is not Christian and not from GOD.
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Mark 7:6This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Why should we keep man made holidays that were made to worship idols, and forget the Holy Days that GOD commanded us to keep?
The Catholic church wanted the pagans to join the church ordered by Constatine because he wanted the people all to be one, the Christians and the Pagans, so it adopted all these pagan holidays and all the things the pagans did to celebrate it. The church even allowed the idol worship but instead of making idol statues, they made statues of Mary and Jesus. It was easy for the pagans to join the Catholic church because they were still allowed to keep their Holidays and worship their idols. This is where the world's Holidays come from.

My Husband and I and our children keep the Biblical Holidays that GOD commands us to keep in Leviticus 23. Jesus Christ/Yahshua Messiah fulfilled the sacrifices that were performed on GOD's Holy Days, but we are still commanded to keep the Holy Days.Yahweh says these are His Feasts, and that we are to keep them forever.They were commanded to the Jews and the strangers among them.The Jews were GOD's people thenand anyone who wanted to live for GOD and obey His Word was allowed to be with the Jewish people.Now that Jesus/Yahshua came ,salvation is offered to whoever believes on Jesus Christ/Yahshua Messiah and keeps His Commandments.

 The world is keeping a counterfeit Sabbath, which is Sunday,and counterfeit Holy Days which are Christmas,Easter,Valentines Day,Halloween,etc. Satan is deceiving the people.Sunday worship and worldly Holidays are Satan's counterfeit days.
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

The Bible holidays that are commanded by Yahweh(GOD) for us to keep forever are Passover,Feast of Unleavened Bread,Feast of First Fruits,Feast of Weeks. These are the Spring Holy Days(Holidays) that tell the story of GOD's redeeming love for His children. Celebrating the Spring Feast is like an anniversary of rememberance of all that GOD has done.

The Bible Holidays that we are commanded to keep in the Fall are the Feast of Trumpets,Day of Atonement, and Feast of Tabernacles. The Fall Feast have not been fulfilled yet, and will be fulfilled at the coming of Jesus Christ(Yahshua Messiah).
Hanukkah is a Bible Holiday that Jesus (Yahshua) kept also. It is also called the Feast of lights and the Feast of dedication. You can read the story of Hanukkah in 1 Macabees. Purim is a Bible Holiday celebrated in March.

I have experienced much persecution for keeping the Sabbath day and Biblical Holidays. One relative called me today and told me I was not going to Heaven because I do not have a Christmas tree.I have been accused by Christians of being Jewish. I am not Jewish,but have been adopted into GOD's people and because we have been adopted, all GOD's promises in the Old Testament we can claim too, because we are now part of GOD's people.
Rom 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

 Some Christians seem to forget that we serve a Jewish Messiah. Jesus Christ, was raised by Jewish parents and gave a Jewish name,Yahshua. The disciples were Jewish as well.But now there is neither Jew or Gentile for we are all one in Jesus Christ/Yahshua Messiah.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Num 15:15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD.

Num 15:16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

It's Jewish

"It's Jewish"

When we present God's holy Law
And arguments from Scripture draw,
Objectors say, to pick a flaw:
"It's Jewish"
{Romans 7:12,22; Psalms 19:7-8;
Revelation 14:12: Acts 17:11...}

Though at Creation Yahweh blessed
And sanctified the Seventh Day for rest,
The same belief is still expressed:
 "It's Jewish!"
{Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 20:10-11}

Though with the world this rest began
And hence through all the Scriptures ran,
Even though Jesus/Yahu'shua said 'twas made for man"...
"It's Jewish!"
{Mark 2:27: Luke 4:16: Acts 17:2; Matthew 24:20;}
{Luke 23:56; Acts 13:42-44; Isaiah 56:2-7}

Though not with Jewish rites which passed,
But with the moral Law 'twas classed,
Which must exist while time shall last—
"It's Jewish!"
{Matthew 5:17-20; James 2:10-12: Romans 3:31
Psalms 111:7-10: 1John 2:3-4; Revelation 22:14}

If from the Bible we present
The Sabbath's meaning and intent,
This answers every argument:
"It's Jewish!"
{Exodus 16:4-5, 26-28; 20:8-12;
Ezekiel 20:12-25, Isaiah 58:13-14}

Though the disciples one and all,
Continued still this rest to call
The Sabbath day, this answers all:
"It's Jewish"
{Acts 16:13; 18:4; Luke 6:5:
Matthew 28:1; Acts 15:21; 17:2}

The Gospel Teacher's plain expression
That "sin is of the Law transgression"
Seems not to make the least impression;
"It's Jewish"
{1John 3:4; Romans 4:15; 3:20: 7:7}

They love the day of man's invention,
But if the sabbath day of Yahweh we mention
This puts an end to all contention:
"It's Jewish"
{1Timothy 4:1; 2Thessalonians 2:3-4;
Isaiah 58:13, Matthew 12:8}

Oh ye who thus God's day abuse
Simply because 'twas kept by Jews,
The Saviour, too, you must refuse—
"He's Jewish"
{John 4:9-10; Hebrews 7:14; Mark 15:32}

The Scriptures, then, we may expect
For the same reason you'll reject.
For if you stop to recollect,
"They're Jewish!"
{Romans 3:1-3; James 1:1}

Thus the apostles, too, must fall,
For Andrew, Peter, James, and Paul,
Thomas, Matthew, John, and all,
Were Jewish.
{Acts 16:20; Phillipians 3:5}

So to your hapless state resign
Yourself in wretchedness to pine;
Salvation surely you'll decline—
"It's Jewish!"
{(John 4:22; Hebrews 8:8; Matthew 10:6; 15:24}

Five Reasons To Keep Hanukkah

1. Did you know that Hanukkah is in the Gospels?
Hanukkah is not mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures
because the story of Hanukkah happened after the last
book of the Tanakh( Old Testament) had been written. However, Hanukkah
is mentioned in the Apostolic Scriptures. Yeshua went to the
Temple for the Feast of Hanukkah.
If Hanukkah matters to Yeshua, shouldn’t it matter to us?

2. Did you know that Hanukkah is a story of religious persecution?
Hanukkah is a story of religious persecution and standing up for
faith in God. Yeshua tells us we can expect persecution, but He
also tells us that we must stand firm in our faith. If that’s what
the story of Hanukkah is about, shouldn’t it matter to us?

3. Did you know that Yeshua talked about Hanukkah?
Yeshua talked about Hanukkah. He warned His disciples
that the things that happened in the story of Hanukkah
would happen again (Mark 13:13–16, Matthew 24:15–18).
To understand what He was saying, His disciples had
to know the story of Hanukkah. If Yeshua talked about
the story of Hanukkah, and His disciples knew the story,
shouldn’t it matter to us?

4. Did you know that Hanukkah commemorates the dedication of God’s Temple?
Hanukkah means “dedication.” It is a remembrance of when the
Jews rededicated God’s Holy Temple to serve only Lord . The
Apostolic Scriptures tell us that we are God’s Temple. If
Hanukkah is a festival about the dedication of God’s Temple, and
we are God’s Temple, shouldn’t it matter to us?

5. Did you know that Hanukkah is the Festival of the Light of the World?
Hanukkah is the Festival of Light. It celebrates the relighting of the
menorah lamp that burned in God’s Holy Temple. In rabbinic
terminology, the menorah was called the “light of the world.” Yeshua
said, “I am the Light of the world,” and another time He told His
disciples, “You are the light of the world.” If Hanukkah is the
Festival of the Light of the World, shouldn’t it matter to us?

Hanukkah

Hanukkah is the Festival of Light. The Master told His disciples, “I am the

light of the world.” On another occasion, He instructed them, “You are
the light of the world… Let your light shine before men in such a way that
they may see your good works (mitzvot), and glorify your Father who is in heaven”
(Matthew 5:16). In the same way, it is traditional to place the Hanukkah menorah
(candelabrum) in a window so that its light radiates outward and illuminates the
darkness of the outside world. So may it be with us.
The celebration of Hanukkah is relevant and important for all Torah-keeping
believers. It is the story of tenacious zeal for Torah, devotion to God’s commandments,
and the will to stand up for what is right and holy. It is the story of the
rededication of God’s Temple and His people. As such, it is an important part of
the history of who we are.

Happy Hanukkah \0/

This is our make shift Menorah in the living room :) We could not find and actual Menorah so my Son went to the thrift store and found these candle holders. I think He did such a good job :)At sunset tonight began  Hanukkah and we lit the first candle. In Yahshua's(Jesus) time He went to the temple on Hanukkah , also called the Feast of the dedication and Festival of Lights, and taught.
Joh 10:22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

Joh 10:23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
Joh 10:24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

Joh 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
Joh 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Hanukkah is about miracles, and Yahshua(Jesus) spoke about the miracles he did, but the people believed not.
Joh 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

Joh 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

Hanukkah reminds us that Yahweh (GOD) is a God of miracles and the miracles that Yahshua did points to Him being the Son of GOD. Even His name means Yaweh is salvation.

Yahshua (Jesus) preached three sermons during Hanukkah in which He declared Himself to be the "light of the world."
Joh 12:35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

Joh 12:36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
Joh 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

Yahshua(Jesus) is the light of the world and a worker of miracles. Yahshua(Jesus) lights our paths and still today does miracles in our life. Hanukkah(Feast of Lights) is a Holiday that Yahshua kept and He is our example.

Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

You can read the story of Hanukkah in 1 Macabees, and also FFOZ has a free E Book about Hanukkah.
Here is the link
http://ffoz.org/gifts/hanukkah.html

To celebrate Hanukkah this year with your family, you can get 8 candles if you do not have a Menorah.
This is what a menorah looks like, if you do find one

You do not have to have a Menorah, this is what was lit in the temple though,but any candles will do. Each night you light another candle beginning on the right and working your way to the left. So tonight you will light the one on the far right and then tomorrow you will light two , all the way till the end of Hanukkah which is in eight days, so you will have to have a total of 8 candles, Hanukkah ending on the 18th( this is the date for 2009). You don't have to keep the candles lit the whole time you can blow them out before bed, or however you want to light them. It is customary to have your Hanukkah candles in the window sill, but you can have them on your dining room table or fireplace mantle. Then each night after you light the candles, you say a prayer for your family and praising GOD for His miracles. You can pray anything you want to. Then you can read the Hanukkah story, read about Yahshua being the light of the world, His miracles and the miracles Yahweh did for the Israelites in Egypt and the Ten Commandments. You can choose to read anything you want to, this is just some ideas, the free e book will have scripture readings you can choose to go by also.
I pray that your Hanukkah this year is a blessing for you, and that you are able to build memories and family traditions with your family :)
May you feel Yahweh near, Tabaitha (Plain Sabbath Keeper)
